户外工业界一年一度的狂热，BACKPACKER EDITORS’ CHOICE牵动了众多厂商的心。随着这个大奖的发布，诸多网上装备购买连锁机构纷纷推出大奖产品系列专卖。但今年有点让他们尴尬的是，有一样产品他们无法发布。那就是超市里出售的TABASCO辣椒酱。在诸多厂家在显眼位置公布他们产品获奖消息的同时，TABASCO似乎忘记了在世界上有这么一个奖项的存在，显得麻木不仁。天哪，这是金奖的获得者。但邻居的大嫂在超市购买TABASCO辣椒酱的时候，她们可能永远不会想到这玩意获得了户外领域的奥斯卡。这种效果有点类似庶民的胜利。这提醒我们，户外是你我的，也是隔壁大嫂的。让我们忘记这些，一起来看看这次BACKPACKER EDITORS’ CHOICE。


从分析数据里我们可以看到，奖项获得者里占据绝对数量的，是服装，背包，帐篷，炊具。尤其是服装类，在经历一年的沉寂后，居然有三款产品获奖。而GOLITE是这几年来第二次获得这个奖了。从XIRTAM开始，SOFTSHELL的革命可能由此开始。FUSION材料的防水4000MM，透气8000MM，更令人兴奋的是，这种面料是有弹性的。这将改变以往SOFTSHELL服装防水的太闷而且无弹性，透气有弹性的服装防水又不好的状况。SOFTSHELL和HARDSHELL的分野将越来越模糊。而SOFTSHELL面料的发展将使HARDSHELL边缘化为雨衣的地步。


在背包领域，从来没有象ARC TERYX  NAOS 55那样，刚推出的时候就吸引了那么多的注意。始祖鸟的产品永远具有这样独特的风格，那就是一定要让你在某个方面感到吃惊。这款包始无前例地全面采用了热贴技术，完全没有缝线。所以，它几乎可以完全防水。在以后，你可能要忘记曾经有过防雨罩这样的东西存在。而腰带，是用卡口和包体连接的，可旋转的。
这也意味着你可以背着它自如地做更加灵活的动作。尤其是攀登陡峭的坡壁的时候。热压技术如此迅猛而广泛地进入背包领域，ARC TERYX绝对是先锋。让我们记住这个背包，在以后大家会广泛引用这个名字。让人苦恼的是，它又开始刷新面向一般消费者的量产背包的价格。


帐篷的奖项中，没有MSR是不正常的。就象是谈到轿车不谈奔驰一样。MSR的轻快系列连续三年获奖。我们有理由怀疑BACKPACKER的编辑是MSR的FANS。MUTHA HUBBA，其特殊的结构使它的内部空间大的惊人。这点和MARMOT AEOLOS类似，更象是个移动的房子，而不是帐篷。对舒适度的追求将成为帐篷业的新目标。更轻，对的，已经广泛使用涂硅尼龙了，但这还远远不够。它够大够宽敞吗？是否会时时顶到你的头？现在你有MUTHA HUBBA了。忘掉以前的局促感了。


西方人对饮食的追求永远落后于东方。虽然这次BACKPACKER史无前例地一口气推出两款炊具。但就象中国人和法国人可以嘲笑他们崇拜辣椒酱一样，日本的炊具业者完全有理由对他们抱以同情的目光。这是JETBOIL第二次获奖。因为GCS让BACKPACKER的编辑可以比较顺手地烹饪炸鸡翅，然后蘸着TABASCO美餐一顿。它开口够大，阳极铝的烹饪性能也良好。而且，炉和罐子都能收纳到锅里。这不象以前一样JETBOIL只能用来煮麦片粥。再让我们来看看BRUNTON的获奖产品，叉勺的设计也不是很新奇，它家的折叠设计也不是最新的，SNOWPEAK常用，但手柄的曲线和勺子本身的线条浑然天成，收合后非常小巧，打开后非常自然，做到了实用和美感的和谐。这个就难得了。这告诉我们，以后的户外炊具设计师不但要设计热效好的产品，还要有美学情趣。烹饪饮食，是种艺术。


TNF是今年的大赢家。它有两款产品获奖。其中CAT’S MEWO是金奖。这款睡袋舒温-7摄氏度，重1.27KG，收纳体积是20cm x 43cm，唯一比较不寻常的是采用了Polarguard Delta化纤棉。我们把这看作是BACKPACKER的一种姿态，那就是鞭策睡袋业界尽快开发出有羽绒那么好的化纤棉，不但保暖，而且压缩性也同样好。TNF的另一款获奖产品是DIAD JACKET，2.5层的HYVENT材料突破了200G，达到199G的重量。这是个了不起的成就，对ULTRALIGHT爱好者来说，这就是他们要的东西。但是，我们要看到，3层复合面料的冲锋衣早就已经突破了300G了，2.5层的DIAD将面临MONT BELL和GOLITE的竞争。


在最后，我们又一次看到了PATAGONIA。它获得了环保奖。这一点也不奇怪。PATAGONIA是业界环保的先锋，我怀疑BACKPACKER的GREEN AWARD是专门为PATAGONIA设置的。这次它的获奖原因是Common Threads Recycling Program. 化纤再循环项目。纤到纤的回收再循环可以使旧衣物经过处理成为纤维，再纺织成面料。买PATAGONIA衣服的人注意了，你现在买的新衣服很可能是你10年前穿过的那件。
