Gore-Tex® XCR™
The most advanced waterproof breathable technology in 20 years. Gore-Tex XCR - “extended comfort range” as used in higher aerobic activities, represents a new class of waterproof breathable technology. Through new membranes and improved lamination techniques, Gore-Tex XCR has 25% less resistance to moisture vapor transmission than Classic Gore-Tex. This translates to up to 500grams or 17oz more moisture transmitted out of your clothing system in an 8-hour period of high aerobic activity. Keeping you dryer and more comfortable. XCR products are also engineered to higher performance finished garment specifications.
Fabric textiles for XCR must have high strength to weight.
Linings must have low Ret.

Marmot MemBrain™
Proprietary PU film laminate. Balances the best performance in breathability, waterproofness, and water repellency with excellent durability. The hydrophilic nature of the PU film reduces internal condensation and increases comfort range by reducing the chilling effect caused by converting condensation build up back into vapor. Specially formulated resin and a double application process it works better, lasts longer and reduces condensation better.

Marmot’s proprietary PU coating technology, specially engineered for unlined garments, combines hydrophobic and hydrophilic PU with a special DryTouch Technology in a very precisely controlled multiple layer coating system. DryTouch incorporates a collagen protein in the coating with a dimensional print that reduces contact points to the skin, reducing condensation and the sticky clammy feel of most coatings.
