Arc'Teryx and Gortex continue their love fest with the introduction of a completely redesigned and reengineered outwear line for '07 using GORE-TEX Pro Shell. Here is the marketing mumbo jumbo:

Pro Shell textiles feature new face fabrics and an ingenious laminated micro-grid woven backer which is more durable and more breathable than tricot liners, and also reduces weight and bulk. This woven backer works synergistically with Arc’Teryx lamination construction methods, allowing us to further reduce seam tolerances and seam tape for more suppler and breathable fabrics. In addition, exclusive to ArcTeryx is a durable and extremely hydrophobic polyester-faced Gortex Pro Shell Poly. This tightly woven polyester textile delivers alpine tough durability with unprecedented water-shedding properties.

Woah. That friends, is why outdoor marketers get paid the big bucks. To confuse people. Thankfully, one of their marketers John I, helped us decipher it. Basically, the old nylon backer has been replaced with a lighter backer, which allows ArcTeryx to use thicker more durable outer fabric, with the same or better breathability and water repellant properties. In fact, they’re using polyester as the external fabric, an extremely hydrophobic fabric. You jacket should last longer, take more of a beating, weight less (10 to 20% lighter), repel water better, and breath better. The pic on the top right shows the two different backers.

NND,打上设计师名字的，要不是码子不合我穿，早下黑手抢了。
在追求了轻量和舒适后，PRO SHELL在性能上能否比过XCR，还得看看某些人的实际使用效果了。

手里这件是戈尔公司的面料测试样品，还没有机会在极端环境下测试防水透气性^_^
感觉比XCR更柔软，而且重量轻，我这件重量不到400克。

发现我接触到的玩家很多感叹goretex的东西贵！其实从另一个方面来说，只有这样的“贵”goretex才能带给我们不断的创新产品，很难想象现在国内这么多低价的商品，它们是否有足够的利润满足售后服务，更别说创新和研发了。

应该是.我在ISPO上拍了鸟服.不过鸟家看称今年ISPO上防范最严的厂家.所以拍摄效果一般.等过几天整理出来看看

GTX的成品面料想做得更轻薄更柔软并不难，只要复合在膜两侧的布料使用更轻更软的就可以。膜本身的变化不大。
不过在复杂的环境下我还是倾向于选择结实的面料，否则捅漏了的面料不管是不是GTX都不爽……

和GTX的工程师聊了一会,PRO SHELL其实是XCR的替代产品,功能上改善了,XCR以后会慢慢淡出.

在我看来是，国内有地方修补！
我那个MHW Epicpant还不知道怎么办呢！

先找个专门修补的裁缝修补一下。然后找个热压胶自己弄一下吧。

PS：或者可以在破损处修补一块自己的LOGO。
